This 3 x 4 ft Navy Afghan Sherwan rug features a geometric medallion design with three large ivory diamond-shaped medallions with floral and geometric motifs arranged across the field in burgundy, rust, soft blue, green and ivory. Smaller small floral, star, diamond and tribal motifs fill the surrounding areas, while a wide ivory floral-and-geometric side borders with multiple narrow geometric bands border frames the rug. The detailed geometric composition, balanced symmetry and rich color palette give this piece the distinctive character associated with traditional Sherwan designs.

About Shirvan Rugs
Shirvan rugs are rare Caucasian collector’s rugs traditionally crafted by artisans in Azerbaijan. Known for ultra-fine wool quality, precise hand-knotting, geometric tribal motifs, and rich nomadic character, each rug reflects generations of Oriental weaving tradition. Its low–medium pile offers texture, durability, and practical everyday use, while its one-of-one design makes it a distinctive piece of vintage textile art.
- Vacuum regularly on a low or no-beater-bar setting, taking care around the fringe.
- Rotate the rug every 6-12 months for even wear.
- Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing.
- Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to help preserve color.
- We recommend a rug pad underneath to prevent slipping and extend the rug's life.
- For deeper cleaning, use a wool-safe professional rug cleaner every 1-2 years.
